It's February, the month of love. And while it's important to show your love and gratitude to those in your life, it's just as important to show love to yourself.
Now, before you start worrying about being selfish or egotistical, let me assure you that self-love is neither of those things. But it is absolutely vital to living your best life. Self-love is simply the act of being kind to yourself. It's about accepting that you are human and therefore imperfect. You are a human being, being human. It means releasing yourself from your own harsh criticisms and judgments while embracing all your magic. And trust me, you are fucking magic!
Think of it this way, if you wish to serve others in your life through love, kindness, support and care, you can do a much better job if you yourself are well taken care of. You can't pour from an empty cup. So grab a damn cup and get filling.
A highly effective way to begin your self-love journey is through journaling. It's been proven to increase self-esteem, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost happiness. The process may not be easy, it may even be a little scary, but I promise it'll be worth it. Now, grab a pen and get to work.
